2011 marks the 15th year since our humble beginnings at Internet Design Concepts. Still the same owners and a nice fat portfolio - we must be doing something right.

In 1996 we began web development for non-profits under Mercies.com.  In 1998, we worked with 7th Time Music which officially launched our journey into e-Commerce development.

I can't wait to see what the next 15 years hold for us.

It is said that a shoemaker's children go barefoot and a roofer's own house has a leaky roof.

As I was on the phone with a client offering advice about a site's first impression, I clicked to my site and was shocked as I looked at something that was certainly NOT what I was just talking about. I had to try to remember the last time I had visited my own site and looked at it from a visitor's perspective. I had no answer to that. I had to take action.

The next seven days were hell for my wife as I holed up in the office with only one thing on my mind. I was determined to turn my site into something that truly represents what I do.

First on the agenda was the portfolio. Sure there were a lot of clients in there, but the layout was drab, the only jobs listed were active client sites and each site had just a small banner-like image and a description. But what about all the other design projects and sites I've developed in the past? The logos I've designed, the brochures, menus, ect.. Any prospective client would have had no idea I even did those things. I wanted to showcase my work. Hell, I'm proud of it.

The rest of what needed updating was pretty much a more appealing layout, more info about the web and graphic design services and experience,  some creative use of CSS and Javascript, placing the live chat feature in a more prominent location and a major upgrade to the Tech Support Ticket System. I even added a demo of the actual timer that's used to track time on a job. It's pretty cool.

I think I'm pleased with the results. My wife says she's glad to have me back too.

What is the first thing friends do when one of them has a new baby, or a death in the family, or job loss, or.. whatever major life-deal that doesn't normally happen every day?

If the friends are worth tMy Turn Mealsheir salt, the closest one will get the rest together and bring dinners for a few days while the friend going through the situation can recuperate. After all, when you're smack dab in the middle of a major life-changing event, it's hard enough to think about brushing your teeth, much less figuring out "what's for dinner?"

So what is My Turn Meals? Another recipe website? Nope. My Turn Meals is a unique social site that brings together a network of friends during a life-changing event of one kind or another. My Turn Meals takes the guesswork out of who is bringing what and when.

Catchy name? I'm hoping so.

I coordinate support for our church members in need, and this site was the answer to a prayer. It's a great way to get the word out fast that someone you know needs help with meals for themselves or family - which is one of the requests we get most often. It's easy, organized, and free! Spread the word!!
